Hi everyone, I hope your day has been filled with joy. Today is Monday and it is a common theme to see #MotivationMonday or similar tags all over social media. The concept is to help bridge the psyche from weekend mode to work mode. People will post beautiful quotes and quips to encourage, uplift, and ...well...motivate. Here are a few quotes to give you an idea of what my news feed looked like today: "The best way to predict the future is to create it" "Follow Your Dreams" "Go that extra mile! It won't be crowded." "Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving." ~Albert Einstein One more... "Be someone who matters, to someone who matters." After pondering these, I realize they are a summation of the ladies I taught a class for this morning. If you have read my blog post the Power Of Friendship, I briefly mentioned them and their long-term camaraderie. I had the wonderful privilege of spending quality time with Dee, Peggy, & Susie, as well as, seeing the dynamics of their 30 year friendship. I have been looking forward to this day, and it was sheer joy. These three were in complete unison with each other. One would begin sharing a memory of a past vacation together and the other two would break out into giggles or even knee slapping hysteria. Would you like to meet them?
Dee is the ringleader,
a retired educator that enjoyed acting in local plays such as
Arsenic & Old Lace.Peggy is an Author, and just published her first book in Christian Fiction. She has written a multitude stories in the past, many of which she said were influenced by the shenanigans during their get-away times. Susie is the youngest of the three and definitely the mischievous one. Retired from a stressful corporate career and has always wanted to be an Artist. She has been taking classes, and painting for the past 5 years. It has been a while since they have been together, but from where I stood, time stood still and they picked up the conversation and kept it rolling from their last adventure. Reminiscing, and bringing me into the fold, as their eyes twinkled with delight. I believe I had as much fun today as they did. After class, they hugged each other and said their goodbyes... until the next adventure begins. I thank you lovely ladies for lighting the flame to my Motivational Monday. And to you that are reading this, take a moment, go back and re-read the quotes. Dee, Peggy, & Susie did all of those words and did them well. But the most important of the 5 is the last: " Be someone who matters, to someone who matters." And yes, they did, and they do. What was your Monday Motivation.? I would love to know. Wander. Explore. Create. Enjoy. ~ Theresa
