Introductory to Soap Making

Join us for our hands-on Basic Soap Making Class at Wandering Thistle Studio.  You will learn introductory Cold Process soap making using raw ingredients & essential oils from start to finish, plus take home your own 2 lb batch of soapy goodness. 

We will cover:

  • Lye Safety
  • Oil Properties
  • A recipe that you can take home to replicate
  • Soap making jargon
  • Cure time, plus other soapy nuggets of tips & tidbits.

**Class is open for individuals 18 years old & older.  Pre-registration is required.

What to wear: Long pants, closed toed shoes, long sleeved over-shirt is preferable but optional. Long hair should be pulled back or braided. 

What to bring: Safety goggles, water bottle to keep yourself hydrated, & your smiling face. :)

Time allotted: Approximately 2- 3 hours

Minimum: 2 individuals. You may sign up via the website or the Studio.



Instructor: Theresa Mendez has been creating soap and bath products for 7 years, specializing in Goat Milk Soap, Beer Soap, & Essential Oil Blending. She often writes for The Collaborative, a soapy e-zine, benefiting the non-for-profit Lovin' Soap Project. She has completed her Aromatherapy course work from Aromahead Institute and is presently completing her research for final Certification. She has taught soapmaking & essential oil classes in Texas and Georgia. She is a member of the Indie Business Network.

Theresa has recently retired from her career of Occupational Therapy and is the CEO of Wandering Thistle Studio, LLC.

**Cancellation policy: If the class does not make your fee will be reimbursed to you.  You may cancel up to 7 days of this class and receive a refund. After 7 days you will receive a 50% credit towards another class, valid for 12 months. No Shows will not receive any reimbursement or studio credit.
We have purchased supplies, advertised, and possibly occurred expenses for a guest instructor to be here. Please make every effort to attend we are going to have fun!
